Green Giant arborvitaes are fast growing, deer resistant, and drought tolerant. They typically reach 30–50 feet tall and 12–15 feet wide, and do best in hardiness zones 5–8 in full sun to partial shade. Once established, they often grow about 3–4 feet per year, with roughly 1 foot of growth in the first year. Their uniformly conical shape, slightly upright branching, and deep green, soft foliage in flat sprays create a dense screen from top to bottom with a pleasant fragrance and no need for shearing or pruning.
